Do This Before Sunday (Pack of 10)
Preparation should be made before coming into God’s presence. Moses was told to remove his shoes before a burning bush representation of God (Exodus 3:5). How should Christians approach the throne where angels cover their faces? (Isaiah 6:2).
Preparing for worship is not the same as preparing for church or Bible class. To prepare for church we make sure the building is clean and comfortable; we put on a matching coat and tie or dress and shoes. To prepare for class, a teacher prepares a lesson and visual aids; students read over verses and answer questions.
To prepare for worship, one prepares his heart which is what God examines (1 Samuel 16:7; Psalm 78:8; 2 Chronicles 12:14; 19:3). “These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me” (Matthew 15:8–9).
